A Splash of Color

While we enjoy the Eid festivities, we are still in celebration mode as we approach Halloween tomorrow. Here's a fun and quirky look you can wear on your face and have a limitless choices of outfits to go with it.

You can use paint, you can use powder, you can use creams. The makeup options are endless when it comes to coloring your face. This is a picture I came across and loved as it is very unique to your face, you are basically going wild with your makeup creating your very own masterpiece. With this look, you won't have to worry about anyone coming dressed as you.

As your face will be very colorful, keep the outfit subtle to keep the attention on your face, wear one color outfit in black, white, nude or pastels. And do go wild with your hair. Apply a little color on your arms and legs if they are bare.

If anyone asks what are you coming as, simply tell them I am a splash of color :)

Have a creepy Halloween!

Brides Like It Dewy

On your wedding day, skin is your basis to beauty. My advice is to drink lots of water, eat fruits and vegetables, and moisturize well to prep your skin for your big day.

Apart from looking after your skin from the inside, you also must prep it on the outside. Brides like dewy skin, and that is achievable with the foundation that is most suitable to your skin type, mixed with iridescent face cream, and blended really well into the skin to even out your skin tone and not look like a mask placed on it.

Dewy skin is always best with highlights. So with this look, make sure you highlight your Cupid’s bow, inner corner of your eyes and your temples!

It’s What You Eat.

Often I get asked what beauty products to use to look more beautiful, younger, and healthier. I always respond with “it is what you eat”. Let’s focus on your ABC vitamins and take you through some of its benefits and sources.

Vitamin A helps boost your immunity system, your vision, bone growth, tooth development, and maintain healthy hair and skin. Found in (tomatoes, watermelon, passionfruit, mango, papaya, broccoli, sprouts, leeks, peas, pumpkin, spinach, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, cow’s milk, tuna).

Vitamin B1 helps your body cells convert carbohydrates into energy. It is crucial for the functioning of the heart, muscles and nervous system. Found in (avocado, dates, grapes, guava, orange, pineapple, asparagus, sweet potato, potato, okra, beef, salmon, tuna, soy beans, soy milk black beans, kidney beans).

Vitamin B2 helps the growth of your body, reproduction and red cells production. Found in (bananas, lychee, pomegranate, pears, almonds, buckwheat, chestnuts, oats, wheat, eggs, caviar, chicken, fava beans)

Vitamin C is one of the most important of all vitamins, It plays a significant role as an antioxidant, protecting body tissue from the damage of oxidation.

Antioxidants act to protect your cells against the effects of free radicals, which are potentially damaging by-products of the body’s metabolism. Free radicals can cause cell damage that may contribute to the development of cardiovascular disease and cancer. Vitamin C has also been found by scientists to be an effective antiviral agent. Found in (grapefruit, kiwi, orange, papaya, strawberries, broccoli, sprouts, green pepper, chestnuts, cod, goat milk, soy beans, edamame)

So pump up on your vitamins beautiful ladies.

Wedding party favors we love!

When all is said and done, and your guests are ready to go home, it's always lovely for them to have a little something to remember you by... here are some creative ideas of what you can give away...

Traditionally rice is thrown at a wedding... why not give away
dried lavender leaves which are in the shape of rice instead!
Beautiful and they smell lovely!

Candles are always a lovely gift, especially when
dressed up to match the theme of the wedding!

Who doesn't love coke in a bottle?!
A nice touch on a modern wedding...
fill the other side with some MnMs
in the color of the wedding,
or a brownie perhaps!
Custom-made elegant cookies that are wrapped and
ribboned add the final touch at the end of the night

For hot nights, this menu or wedding program doubles
as a fan, and makes for a lovely souvenir too!

Small Eyes Gone Big!

Small Eyes Gone Big!

Almost every woman I meet asks me for tips and tricks on how to get bigger looking eyes. I’d like to share some tips especially for women with small eyelids as it makes the most difference to them!

You can use one of two things: a light shimmery shadow, or a light metallic shadow all over your moving eyelids. Then use the same color eyeliner (I recommend gel eyeliner) to draw cat eyeliner along your lash line (start thin from the inner corner of your eyes, and go thicker towards the end). Lastly fill in your eyebrows and give them a shape to make them look higher, and finish off the look with lots of mascara on your upper lashes for a wake-me-up look.

Use this photo here as a reference and practice the mentioned steps till you perfect them!
