Saturday Tips: Getting Organized

Most of us feel overwhelmed as it is with our busy schedules, now throw in a wedding and things are bound to get even more hectic! To avoid a messy situation, and sail smoothly through your big day, the key is organization. Following these simple tips to successful planning will help you minimize the likelihood of things going wrong on your wedding!

1.Don’t get lazy! One mistake most couples make is that they try to cram all the planning into a short period of time right before the wedding. Instead of waiting till last minute, get as much done as early as possible so that the last few months won’t be hectic.

2.Create a calendar. Once you determine your wedding date, start setting up certain dead lines by which you want to get things done. For example, mark the dates that you want to have the location and catering reserved by.

3.Make time. Choose a day out of the week when you’ll focus entirely on your wedding together as a couple. This eliminates confusion between the bride and groom and ensures they’re both on the same page.

4.Share duties. Both the bride and groom should be involved every step of the way. Once you’ve made a to-do list, divide it in half amongst yourselves based on what each one is more interested to do. While doing this don’t forget to communicate and keep each other in the loop!

5.Details, details, details! When dealing with wedding professionals be sure to clarify the exact details of what you expect, with a contract stating the specific dates, times and locations. Make sure to spell everything out for them, especially when it comes to the things important that are most important to you.
