Floral Fridays - Bridal Bouquets

Wedding bouquets are just as important as other floral decorations on your big day. Often they are considered an extention of the bridal dress. The bouquets come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and as a bride you need to ensure your choice is a reflection of your own style.

Whether it’s a small and simple set or a huge variety of different flowers, The traditional color has always been white, but these days brides are going for more a spectrum of shades when picking their flowers.

First you need to decide on the size. If you are wearing an elaborate or full gown, it’s best to go with a long stemmed bouquet. An casual boquet is more suited for an informal and unconventianal dress.

Next comes the type of bouquette arrangement you would like, here are two of our favorite options:
-Cascade, also known as a fountain, are rounded at the top with a stream of flowers flowing down. This type of bouquette is the most tranditional and is often done using orchids.

-Nosegay, a rounded and sparsly packed bouquet, are accesorised using ribbons to wrap around the stems and can be worn either casual or formal.

Then it’s time to choose the flowers you want in your bouquet. You can pick this based on their appearance, or if they have a specific meaning to you. If you want to show a loving sentiment, go for the classic red roses. For a touch of passion, incorporate yellow irises. Tulips represent a shared love, and the iris is a symbol of faith. Whatever you’re feeling, there is a specific bloom that can get the message across and make your day more special.

If you would like to personalize it even more, pin on a few family heirlooms and brooches or wrap the bouquet with a special swatch of fabric.

We have put together some of our favorite bouquets ideas for you...
