Inspired by sugary shades of macaroons and the soft floral colors, this palette allows you to be the image of femininity regardless of whether you are wearing white or not.

From simple, to layered, and ruffled... these sweet hues come in a wide range of cuts and fabrics! Our favorite picks are shown below, would you wear this trend on your wedding day?

Saturday Tips: Getting Organized

Most of us feel overwhelmed as it is with our busy schedules, now throw in a wedding and things are bound to get even more hectic! To avoid a messy situation, and sail smoothly through your big day, the key is organization. Following these simple tips to successful planning will help you minimize the likelihood of things going wrong on your wedding!

1.Don’t get lazy! One mistake most couples make is that they try to cram all the planning into a short period of time right before the wedding. Instead of waiting till last minute, get as much done as early as possible so that the last few months won’t be hectic.

2.Create a calendar. Once you determine your wedding date, start setting up certain dead lines by which you want to get things done. For example, mark the dates that you want to have the location and catering reserved by.

3.Make time. Choose a day out of the week when you’ll focus entirely on your wedding together as a couple. This eliminates confusion between the bride and groom and ensures they’re both on the same page.

4.Share duties. Both the bride and groom should be involved every step of the way. Once you’ve made a to-do list, divide it in half amongst yourselves based on what each one is more interested to do. While doing this don’t forget to communicate and keep each other in the loop!

5.Details, details, details! When dealing with wedding professionals be sure to clarify the exact details of what you expect, with a contract stating the specific dates, times and locations. Make sure to spell everything out for them, especially when it comes to the things important that are most important to you.

Floral Friday: Peonies

Peonies are an effortlessly beautiful flower that have traditionally embodied romance and prosperity and are regarded as good omens of fortune and happiness in a marriage.

These flowers are adored for their largely fluffy and colorful texture. They look great when paired with other floral pieces and are naturally stunning on their own as well.

The peony comes in a variety of shades including white, yellow, red and pink, making it easy to match to the tone of your event. They can be used in many ways, as centerpieces, in bouquets, on invitations and cakes, and so on, making them a bridal favorite.

DIY Ideas : Photo Booth Fun

One of the most important parts of the wedding is capturing memorable moments with your loved ones. Eventhough there is always going to be a camera man on hand following guests around trying to get as many shots as possible, the problem is that the photos can come out really boring and lacking in energy.

The good news is that there is a solution for that! In a photo booth guests can take their own photos using props, making it more interactive and fun. These days photo booths are all the trend and there are many places that offer rentals, but since it can be pricey why not try to DIY?

Here is what to do:
  • Pick a spot in your venue to make into the photo booth corner. This minimizes the impact on the rest of the room, and also minimizes the likelihood of people unexpectedly bumping a tripod or popping up in your shots!
  • Hang a piece of fabric or curtain as the backdrop for your photos.
  • Use a tripod to keep your photo taking equipment stable.
  • Provide props as you see fit, you could even match it with your theme!
  • Snap away!

Wedding Wednesday: Dazzling Decor

Who doesn’t love a little bling? Even though it can be over done, using the right amount of dazzle in your decor is all you need to give your wedding day that little something extra!

A touch of sparkle can take a simple setting and turn it into something elegant and memorable, here are some ideas you can try:

A constellation of floating stars in varying heights and sizes can be enchanting when places over the dining table, or even scattered across the room.
Another option would be to spread the glittery stars on the floor. This can be arranged around the aisle!

Even your deserts can have a touch of dazzle, for example you could use sparklers as toppers for cakes or add a pinch of luster dust.

Dress up a plain table setting by throwing on a shimmering table cloth, or adding some sequins into a set up of candleholders and flower centerpieces.

Trendy Tuesdays: Cap Sleeves

Say good-bye to strapless gowns, sleeves are taking over the bridal fashion scene! We can’t get enough of the covered-up styles that embody the femininity of women, without showing too much skin.

Our favorite way to rock this trend is by opting for the cap sleeve…

Despite the more conservative reputation of this style option, the cap sleeve gives any dress an unexpected touch of detailing. It acts as a method of accessorizing your outfit, and can be done using a wide range of fabrics.

For example, a heavily embellished sleeve could be worn with a pair of simple studded earrings to add a touch of sparkle to your bridal gown. On the other hand, a laced cap sleeve is more delicate and works best with bolder jewelry.

Cake-box - طلوع baby Hamdan

A tradition in the Middle East is that when a baby completes their first 6 weeks, the parents usually give away some sort of gift or just announce the baby.

Here we were approached by a lovely new mommy, Rawdha and were asked to create a cake box for her baby boys 6 weeks celebration.

To continue the theme of the teal cake, we created a box that was filled with arabic calligraphy and lettering and the inside front cover marked a logo with the baby's name announcing his 6weeks celebration.

A concept by absolute events.

**Special thanks to Zena Adhami Designs for all the calligraphy work.

Sunday Snapshots – Behind the Scenes

When it comes to weddings, you want to make sure to capture the feelings of the big day as you go along. That’s why we document every moment of the occasion, and those instants of the preparations stage are no exception!

The anticipation and rush of emotions that builds up as couples get closer and closer to their ceremony is an essential part of the experience, so why not capture those moments as we do with the rest?

For example it could be when a bride is putting together the final touches of her outfit, or when a groom is patiently waiting in the other room with his best men, or even a comical scene that would be sweet to look back on in the future!

Here’s a selection of shots we’d like to share:

DIY Ideas – The Wishing Tree

We love adding a special touch to spice up an occasion, and we love anything that gets guests involved! That’s why we felt we HAD to share this little idea from My DIY Wedding!

Instead of using a traditional guest book, have your party geusts leave you little notes on hang tags attached to tree branches! The tree works both as a decorative piece as well as a way for your loved ones to share their best wishes.

What you’ll need:
  •        Hang Tags
  •        Ribbon
  •        Tall glass vase
  •        Four Dozen Marbles

What to do?
  • Arrange the tree branches in the tall glass vase and stablize them with marble
  • Cut four inch pieces of ribbon and thread through the hang tags
  • Leave tags out for guests to tie onto the tree after having written their notes
