Saturday Tips – Planning a Destination Wedding

1.     Pick the perfect spot. Your wedding location should say something about your personal style. If you love luxury and romance, why not have a ceremony in Paris. Do you consider yourself an adventorous couple? Consider an outdoor wedding in Costa Rica.

2.     Time it right. The best weather in popular vaccation spots usually also happens to be tourist season, which means there are more crowds, higher rates, and fewer hotel availabilities. To avoid any hassle, you would want to make your reservations 10 to 12 months in advance.

3.     Take a trip. Make at least one trip to your location of choice before the actual ceremony. During this trip you should scout and secure your venus, caterers, florists, photographers and more.

4.     Keep your guests in mind. If you want to do a destination wedding, you have to make it affordable for the people who are invited. Don’t pick a location that costs too much, and go for a destination spot that offers wedding packages.

5.     Know the legalities. When you’re going international, be aware of the legal requirements. Many countries have residency requirements as well as marriage fees and other documents.
