Runway Brides... New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week... four words that make every fashionista weak at the knees!

For us, nothing makes us tingle more than the perfect wedding dress, the element that brings a wedding together and the first dress the bride will wear as a married woman... arguably the most romantic item of clothing a girl will ever own or wear!

We couldn't contain our excitement when we heard that Project Runway's Season 5 winner Leanne Marshall  would be showcasing her Spring/Summer 2013 bridal collection at NYFW. Even more intrigued were we when we heard she had been inspired by none other than the most common of vegetables: the cabbage!

What do you think? Can you see yourself making your grand entrance as Mrs. in one of these?

The green-hued cabbage creation

A vision in white - it doesn't get more romantic than this!

Ethereal and light - for a daytime wedding perhaps?

A key color this trend - for brides wishing to be bold, different but still  turn heads!

Margherita Missoni...The Bohemian Bride

The Bohemian Bride we've all been awaiting to get married just to take a sneak peak of the heiress's much anticipated wedding finally got hitched. She got married in Italy this weekend to her long-time beau Eugenio Amos a racing-driver.

Margherita built a signature make up look through out the years which was her signature style of beauty, clean and natural was her direction. She usually opted for a bold lip and natural hair.As for her big day it was Heidi-inspired headband braid and minimal makeup, oozing the bride with angelic beauty.

The theme of the wedding was of course non other than "Missoni prints", however the heiress did add her own personal touches, that reflected her own free-spirited personality.

The beaming bride's exit as family members and friends cover her with different colored petals of pinks, lilacs and oranges.

Mr and Mrs. Amos.....

A white daisy was the siganture flower for special guests, for the ladies it was a wreath .

For the men it was a single daisy inserted in the mens front pocket.

The seating for dining was done in the most untraditional way. Some guests were seated on proper tables while others were seated in a picnic arabesque style seating, with signature Missoni table cloths, plates, napkins and cushions.

Circular seating brought the guests in a close and intimate setting with amazing Missoni prints.

We love this garden themed casual wedding. The bohemian bride looks stunning in her vintage diamond tiara with her new husband in his coat tails jacket !

The absolute team wishes them all the luck + love.

Graduation After Party

Last week, we had the most nostalgic event ever, we went back in time to our school days  and had to transform Latifa School for Girls, dining hall into an amazing after party. Our client asked a whole transformation for her daughter's after graduation teatime party. Purple opulence meets Hot Miami was the theme we were going for. The aim of our event was to transfer the fresh graduates into a joyful venue where they really feel that they're all grown up and have reaped what they've sown. This was a true celebration that the graduates truly deserved.

The Before pictures...

 The After pictures....

The entrance was reminiscent of the tassle dresses of the 70's which was filled with shades of purple colored ribbons.
Here's another view of the entrance, after going through the ribbons you enter a bliss of purples and whites.

The buffet's ceiling was decorated using our custom made tassel chandeliers.

Floral cylinders were also placed between the scrumptious bite size food.

A lounge area was created for the graduates to chill on and dine on.

On this seating area there was an emotional presentation prepared for the graduates to watch after dining.
Florals for the cocktail tables and sofas.....

The party was a hit among the youngsters, we wish them a fruitful future in their next chapters of their lives.

An Engagement of Lavender and Caramel

Let the purple and gold celebrations begin! The following event was an engagement party done at the clients house, where the whole venue was transformed into a purple haze with gold accents here and there. The first area was filled with gold seating  and a mini kosha (mini stage done for the bride and groom) for a ceremony of wearing the ring in front of the guests. Then,  the couple moved to their next kosha which was set  inside the tent, that had the dining tables around.Lavender colored flower centerpieces in high cylinder vases were placed on the dining table to make it easier for the guest to socialize. The lounging sofas had caramel colored pillows to bring out the gold theme.Below are some of the captions we took just before the guests arrived.
The tent getting prepped, fluffed and chandeliered, before the function begins...

The pillow shaped cake was the main attraction, that was made to match the whole theme of purple and gold.

Once the cake ceremony was done, guest were ready to dance the night away on our built-in dance floor...
