Holiday Lips

Love red lips for the holidays!” Kim Kardashian.

Kim posted a photo of herself wearing hot red lips for the holidays, seems like a perfect reason to create kissable lips like Kim’s.

When it comes to red, you must follow certain steps for a long lasting colour:

1.   After applying lip balm or Blistex. Smile and apply concealer all over your lips to fill in cracks, and to create an even base for a red colour.

2.   Contour your lips using a red lip liner, emphasize your cupid’s bow and fill in your lips with the same liner.

3.   Using a lip brush, apply red lipstick over the liner.

4.   Using your finger, dab in some red powder pigment onto the center of your lips.

5.   Finally, apply either clear or red gloss onto the center of your lips as well, and brush it sideways right before the corners of your lips for your finished look.

6.   If you want to have sharper edges, apply concealer to the corners of your lips for a sharp V-shaped edge.

The Art of Youth

Ladies and Gents, yes that's right, we are including the gents in this. Are you looking for ways to master looking young? Here are some tips that you can follow:

- Always wear sunscreen. Summer or not, the sun rays are known to be damaging, so protect your skin from pigments and delay the appearance of wrinkles by using sunscreen on a daily basis.

- Eat cheese, nuts, garlic, and onion as these foods have vitamins that are good for your hair and nails growth and strength.

- Use potato peel underneath your eyes to help absorb the dark circles and make your skin look lighter. You can also do this on bruises.

- Use ointment instead of cream on dry areas of your skin, the moist effect lasts longer.

- Always wear lip balm with SPF to protect your skin from tan lines and dryness.

- Create DIY face mask to cleanse your face and relax your face muscles as you massage it in.

- Awaken your skin with a spritz of water, or rose water in the morning.

- Use castor oil on your eyelashes and eyebrows before you sleep to help with their growth.

- Most importantly, sleep well, workout, and SMILE :)

Plump Up Your Lips

Full lips or plumped up lips have become an obsession lately. But I am against injections and artificial methods.

Here’s a nice DIY technique just by adding peppermint oil or cinnamon leaf oil to your lips.

These oils are natural essence of their plant. When a drop of the oil is placed on the lips, it will cause it to swell and go red, which means your lips will look fuller. You will experience a slight tingly feeling when applying the oil but you’ll adjust to it quickly.

Not only does peppermint swell and redden your lips, it also acts as a muscle relaxant, so your lips will look relaxed and not tight. This will further add to the fullness of your lips.

1. Open your tube of lip gloss.
2. Drop one to three drops of cinnamon leaf oil or peppermint oil into the lip gloss.
3. Mix the oil into the lip gloss with a gloss wand or cotton swab.
4. Dip you finger into the gloss tube or jar and wait a couple of minutes. If the gloss doesn't sting too badly, then continue on.
5. Apply the gloss to your lips. Repeat as needed.

Calm your Skin

A number of clients with oily skin ask me how to calm their skin as the excess oil irritates them. Especially when applying makeup. Here are quick steps to doing so:

- Use a primer before applying your makeup to mattify your skin.

- Apply pressed powder after applying makeup to re-mattify the skin especially if you’ve used any cream based products.

- Wash your face just once or twice a day. Extra washing will lead to excess oil secretion.

- Moisturize your skin using non-comedogenic substances. If you don’t, your skin will think it needs more moisture so it will secrete more oil again.

- Go for facial masks that deep cleanses your pores and purifies your skin.

- Use oil blots to remove any excess oil anytime of the day whether you are wearing makeup or not.
